New Links Added!!

Good afternoon!

I have added some links along the side to work at home companies. Most of these are exclusively for work at home. It is a work in progress as I intend to add to it regularly as I find more sites. Additionally, if you know of any legitimate companies, please post them and I will get them in the links list to make it easier to find.

Soon - I will be posting daily job openings that I find, this will help you quickly find jobs that are open on a particular date.

I hope everyone had a fantastic Sunday. It is amazing how quickly time flies - I can't believe we are in the end of October!! The holidays are upon us!! I am not prepared, but then again, I never am, so it this is not new! :)

Those of you that are new to working from home will find it very exciting and very confusing at times, but hold on because it does get easier. Working from home is one of the best things that could have happened to me - I never dreamed it was possible and yet, here I am, fulfilling my dream! I am thankful everyday! If you have always dreamed of working from home, I’m here to tell you, it CAN be done – there are real legitimate work at home opportunities out there right now.

If you remember nothing from my ramblings, remember one thing, never ever pay anyone to work from home – it’s a scam. Run far away and don’t look back! If you think about it, does it really make sense to pay someone to work???  It's so easy to get caught up in the moment and think you have found your ticket only to read the fine print that you have to send in x amount of dollars. Never do it!

Monday is a new work week! If you're looking for a work from home job, make it your goal this week to look through all the links and apply at some or all of the companies. Soon, you too will be living your dream!

Have a wonderful afternoon and evening!

Freelance Writing Gigs 10.21.09

Good evening! I want to give you some ideas on freelance writing gigs. So let's jump right in!

Demand Studios is a great way to earn money from home. They pay twice per week (yes, I said twice per week!) via Paypal. They have numerous articles to choose from (the well never runs dry!).  They pay per article written rather than per word. Some people use this as their FT job; others use it to fill in the gaps. Either way, it's worth a look. It is completely legit!! These articles appear on eHow and other sites. The articles require some research.

Textbroker is another way to earn some cash as a freelancer. It works a bit differently than Demand Studios and pays a bit less in the beginning, but with this company, you have a potential to get direct jobs with clients who have seen your work. Therefore, you might begin at lesser pay, but when you get direct orders, you can set your own price. They pay twice per month via Paypal.  Worth checking out and these too, are legit!

WordGigs A very interesting site that hires freelance writers - this consists of blogging and short article writing, you are paid per blog, mini-post, or article. The nice thing about this company is there isn't a lot of research that has to be done, especially with the blog posts. They pay once per month via Paypal, and are legit!

Delegate 2 this company is located in the UK and hires freelance writers from around the world. The pay is based on the project they send you via email; you have the option to reject a project if you do not think you can do it. They pay once per month via Paypal in US dollars. Worth checking out!! Yes, they are legit.

There you have it! These are the writing gigs I am aware of that legitimate and you can work from home. So, check them out and let me know how it goes or if you have any reviews on any of these companies.

Have a great evening!!

Work From Home's FIRST POST!!

Welcome!!! This is the first official post for Work At Home! I'm excited to share with you the things I have learned over the years of working from home. I have found a common thread:

- Scams (there are LOTS of these! Be careful!!)
- Low-pay

Let's deal with the scams right off the bat! Work at home scams are easy to spot, first, just like your mama told you, "If it sounds too good to be true....it is!" Those are wise words...think about, an ad reads, "Make $1000 per day stuffing envelopes from home...." Well, let's see, if this were true, would not all the executives out there be quitting their jobs to stuff envelopes?? There is a common sense element to NOT getting suckered into these types of scams. Other scams are harder to spot, for instance, those that say, "Send me $1.99 and I will get you set up with all the data entry work you want....." First off, never, EVER send anyone money to go to work, remember, you want to work to make money!

Low pay is another pet peeve of mine - first off, employers are not paying for office space nor the Internet,  wear and tear on the individual's computer  probably 99% of the time, so why then do I come across companies wanting to pay meager wages while still expecting professionalism?  Working from home is not easy and actually it is just another place where the "office" is located. So, on top of the low wages, many at home jobs are independent contractor (IC), meaning you have to pay your own taxes, you are not an employee of the company.

This brings up another important point - many companies claiming to hire IC's walk a thin line of actually being an employer. What do I mean by this? If you work as an IC, this means you call the shots, you say when you want to work and for how long, if you have a set schedule, guess what? You're working as an IC, regardless of what the company calls it. Why do companies get away with it? Most people that work from home and find a job that pays are so delighted, they overlook it and it goes unreported.

Ok, I'm getting on a rant which was not my intention on the very first post!! I plan also to help you with site and leads for real work at home jobs.

So hang tight, let's enjoy the ride...together!! :)
